Police officer in court for rape

A police officer accused of raping and sexually assaulting unidentified victims was heard in court today for the second time.

Sergeant Nick Lidstone had been arrested on the 25 June after charged with the suspicion of the two counts.

The aggravated sexual offences were said to have taken place in Cambridgeshire in 2008.

The county’s Constabulary said Lidstone had been suspended until the case is resolved.

A third hearing will take place in September.

Until then Lidstone will remain in custody at Chelmsford prison.
